Blickling

Blickling is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, situated approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Aylsham. The parish falls within the Broadland District Council area.

The name "Blickling" is believed to derive from the Old English name "Blicca's people" or "the settlement of Blicca's family."

The village is most famous for Blickling Hall, a stately home in the care of the National Trust. Blickling Hall is a Jacobean mansion with a long and rich history, reputedly the birthplace of Anne Boleyn, one of the wives of King Henry VIII. The estate includes extensive gardens and parkland.

Blickling village itself is relatively small and retains a traditional rural character. The surrounding area is primarily agricultural. The village has a church dedicated to St. Peter.
