Gary Taylor (baseball)
Gary Taylor (born May 27, 1982) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins (2007-2008) and the Houston Astros (2010-2011).
Taylor was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2nd round of the 2000 MLB Draft. He played in the minor leagues for several years before making his major league debut with the Florida Marlins in 2007.
During his MLB career, Taylor was primarily a backup catcher. He was known for his defensive abilities. His career MLB statistics include a batting average of .183, 1 home run, and 11 RBIs.
After his playing career ended, Taylor has been involved in baseball coaching.
