USS Intrepid (1874)

The USS Intrepid was an iron-hulled schooner built for the United States Navy in 1874. She served primarily in the North Atlantic, conducting surveying and exploration duties, particularly in Greenland and the Arctic regions. Her construction was part of a broader effort by the U.S. Navy to modernize its fleet and expand its capabilities in scientific exploration.
