USS Oklahoma City (CL-91)
The USS Oklahoma City (CL-91) was a Cleveland-class light cruiser of the United States Navy. Commissioned in December 1944, she served in the Pacific Theater during the final months of World War II, participating in operations such as the Okinawa campaign. Following the war, she underwent conversion to a guided missile cruiser (CLG-5) in the late 1950s, becoming one of the first cruisers to carry the Terrier surface-to-air missile system. As a guided missile cruiser, the Oklahoma City served extensively in the Western Pacific during the Cold War, including multiple deployments off the coast of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. She provided naval gunfire support and served as a flagship for the Seventh Fleet. She was decommissioned in December 1979 and eventually scrapped in the late 1990s. Her wartime service earned her two battle stars, while her Vietnam War service garnered her thirteen.
