Kosmos 28

Kosmos 28 was a Soviet satellite launched in 1964 as part of the Kosmos program. Its primary purpose was experimental, specifically to test elements of spacecraft systems and conduct scientific research in the near-Earth space environment. This included investigating radiation belts, studying the ionosphere, and evaluating the performance of onboard equipment under spaceflight conditions. The launch took place from Kapustin Yar using a Kosmos-2I 63S1 rocket. Like many early Kosmos missions, detailed information regarding specific scientific objectives and instrumentation remains somewhat limited in publicly available records. The satellite re-entered the Earth's atmosphere and decayed after a relatively short period of operation.
