John Toone

John Toone (dates of birth and death currently unknown) was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1874 and 1880. He was primarily a right-handed batsman.

Toone made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1874 season against Lancashire, scoring a duck in his only innings. He played regularly for the county side for the next six seasons. His highest score of 88 came against Surrey in 1877. In the 1879 season, he achieved his best season average of 16.15. He played his last match for Derbyshire in the 1880 season against Hampshire.

In all, Toone played 31 first-class matches, scoring 504 runs at an average of 9.16. He took one catch and did not bowl. More biographical information is currently unavailable.
