VA-135 (U.S. Navy)

VA-135 was a short-lived Attack Squadron of the United States Navy. It was established on 27 December 1944 and disestablished on 8 October 1945. The squadron was based at Naval Air Station Deland, Florida, and was equipped with the SB2C Helldiver. Its primary mission was to provide training for replacement pilots destined for combat duty in the Pacific Theater of World War II. It did not deploy overseas. The squadron's designation, "VA," indicates its role as an attack squadron, distinguishing it from other types of naval aviation squadrons. Following the end of World War II and the subsequent reduction in military personnel and equipment, VA-135, like many other training units, was decommissioned.
