John J. O'Connor (journalist)

John J. O'Connor (1933 – 2009) was an American television critic and journalist who wrote for The New York Times for nearly three decades. He was known for his insightful and often critical reviews of television programs, covering a wide range of genres from dramas and comedies to documentaries and news broadcasts.

O'Connor's work contributed significantly to the development of television criticism as a serious form of cultural analysis.
