Blonde Redhead (album)
Blonde Redhead is the self-titled debut studio album by the American alternative rock band Blonde Redhead. It was released in 1995 on Smells Like Records. The album showcases the band's early, more aggressive and noisy sound, heavily influenced by no wave and Sonic Youth. Its tracks are characterized by dissonant guitar work, driving rhythms, and shared vocals between Kazu Makino and Maki Takahashi. The album established the band's initial underground following and captured their raw, experimental energy. While later albums would see the band evolve towards a more dream-pop influenced and refined sound, Blonde Redhead serves as an important document of their formative years.
