Nando (footballer, born May 1967)
Nando is the common short name for Fernando Macedo da Silva Rodilla, a Spanish retired footballer. He was born on May 15, 1967, in Valencia.
Nando primarily played as a right midfielder, although he was versatile and could also operate on the left or as a forward. He spent the vast majority of his professional career playing in La Liga, representing clubs such as Valencia CF, Sevilla FC, FC Barcelona, and Real Betis.
His time at FC Barcelona was particularly notable. Under manager Johan Cruyff, he was a part of the "Dream Team" that dominated Spanish football in the early 1990s, winning multiple La Liga titles and the European Cup in 1992. He was known for his pace, work rate, and crossing ability.
Following his successful spell with Barcelona, Nando moved to Real Betis, where he spent several seasons before retiring from professional football. He also represented the Spanish national team on a number of occasions.
After retiring as a player, Nando has occasionally been involved in coaching or football-related activities.
