Yamaha FJ
The Yamaha FJ series comprised a range of inline-four cylinder, air-cooled, DOHC sport touring motorcycles produced by Yamaha between 1984 and 1996. The initial model, the FJ1100 (1984-1985), was followed by the FJ1200 (1986-1996), which featured an increased engine displacement and various updates over its predecessor.
The FJ series were known for their powerful engines, comfortable ergonomics, and capable handling, making them popular choices for long-distance riding and spirited backroad adventures. Their design emphasized a balance of performance and practicality, offering a comfortable riding position and ample luggage capacity for touring, while also providing sufficient power and agility for more sporting riding.
The FJ1200, in particular, became a highly regarded motorcycle, celebrated for its reliability, smooth power delivery, and overall versatility. It remained largely unchanged throughout its production run, testament to its solid engineering and timeless design. The FJ series, while no longer in production, maintains a dedicated following among motorcycle enthusiasts and is often sought after as a reliable and affordable sport touring option.
