Hugh Blair (composer)
Hugh Blair (1864-1932) was an English organist and composer, primarily known for his Anglican church music. He served as organist at Holy Trinity Church, Marylebone, and later at St. John's Church, Paddington. Blair's compositions include cantatas, services, anthems, and organ pieces, reflecting a late-Romantic style with influences from composers such as Charles Villiers Stanford and John Stainer. While not as widely known as some of his contemporaries, his music remains part of the Anglican choral repertoire and continues to be performed in cathedrals and churches throughout England.
