Gledhow

Gledhow is a suburb of north-east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately three miles (5 km) north-east of Leeds city centre.

Historically part of the parish of Roundhay, Gledhow developed as a residential area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with significant expansion occurring after the First World War. Much of the housing stock consists of detached and semi-detached properties, many built in a distinctive inter-war style.

Gledhow is characterised by its green spaces, notably Gledhow Valley Woods, a large area of woodland offering walking trails and recreational opportunities. Gledhow Beck flows through the woods.

The area is primarily residential, with local amenities including shops, schools, and community facilities. Gledhow has good transport links to Leeds city centre and surrounding areas via bus routes. The nearest railway stations are in nearby Chapel Allerton and Oakwood.

Historically, Gledhow Hall was a prominent estate in the area. While the original hall has been demolished, its name is preserved in the area.

Gledhow is within the Moortown ward of Leeds City Council.
