Mauricio Ortega (discus thrower)

Mauricio Ortega (born October 4, 1994) is a Colombian track and field athlete specializing in the discus throw. He represents Colombia in international competitions.

Ortega holds the Colombian national record in the discus throw. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, though he did not reach the finals in either competition. He has participated in multiple World Athletics Championships, also without reaching the finals.

Ortega has won medals at various regional and continental championships, including the South American Championships in Athletics. He is known for his consistent performance and dedication to improving his throwing distance.
