VP-29 (1946–1955)

VP-29 was a United States Navy Patrol Squadron designated VP-29. Officially established on August 16, 1946, at NAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, the squadron conducted long-range aerial patrols and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) operations using P2V Neptune aircraft. Its initial home base was later shifted to NAS Kodiak, Alaska. VP-29 served during the early years of the Cold War, playing a role in monitoring Soviet naval activity in the Pacific. The squadron was disestablished on November 15, 1955.
