Ebenezer (film)

Ebenezer is a 1997 Canadian-American made-for-television Christmas film. It is a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novella A Christmas Carol, starring Jack Palance as Ebenezer Scrooge. In this version, Scrooge is portrayed as a ruthless businessman who owns a large department store in a contemporary city (Montreal). The film follows the familiar narrative arc of Scrooge's transformation after being visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. The screenplay was written by John Knelman and directed by Ken Girotti. The film also stars Ricky Schroder as Bob Cratchit and Albert Schultz as the Ghost of Christmas Present. It aired on TNT in the United States and CBC in Canada.
