Jewett (automobile)

The Jewett was an American automobile manufactured by the Paige-Detroit Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan from 1922 to 1926. Positioned as a smaller and more affordable companion car to the larger Paige, the Jewett was named after Harry M. Jewett, then president of Paige-Detroit.

The Jewett was intended to appeal to a broader market segment than the Paige, featuring a six-cylinder engine and a variety of body styles, including sedans, coupes, and touring cars. The car was known for its robust construction and relatively good performance for its price point.

Despite its initial success, the Jewett was ultimately discontinued in 1926. Paige-Detroit subsequently introduced a new, larger Paige model designed to compete in the mid-priced market, effectively replacing the Jewett. The assets and tooling related to the Jewett were sold.

The Jewett automobile is now considered a collectible classic car, with surviving examples sought after by enthusiasts.
