The Boys (Finnish band)
The Boys were a Finnish punk rock band active primarily in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They are considered one of the pioneering punk groups in Finland. Formed in Helsinki, the band was known for its raw energy, simple song structures, and often humorous or satirical lyrics, sung in Finnish.
While not achieving mainstream commercial success, The Boys gained a devoted following within the Finnish punk scene and influenced subsequent generations of musicians. Their music often tackled themes of youth rebellion, social commentary, and everyday life from a punk perspective.
The original lineup featured members who went on to participate in other significant Finnish bands. Although The Boys' initial run was relatively short, their impact on the development of Finnish punk rock remains significant. Some of their recordings have been reissued, contributing to a renewed interest in their music among punk enthusiasts.
