Knutsford (UK Parliament constituency)

Knutsford was a constituency returning a Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was located in Cheshire, England.

History

The Knutsford constituency was created in 1885, carved out of the existing Mid Cheshire constituency. It existed until 1983, when it was replaced by the Tatton constituency.

Boundaries

The constituency's boundaries shifted slightly over its existence to reflect population changes. Generally, it covered the area around Knutsford in Cheshire, including towns such as Alderley Edge and Wilmslow.

Over its lifespan, Knutsford was represented by a number of prominent politicians. The MPs included:
