Skymetro

The Skymetro is a driverless, automated people mover (APM) system operating at Copenhagen Airport (CPH). It provides a vital airside link between Terminal 3 and the CPH Go low-cost terminal (formerly known as Terminal 4), as well as connecting to the C gates used for international flights outside the Schengen Area. The system is designed to transport passengers quickly and efficiently between these key areas of the airport, minimizing walking distances and travel time.

The Skymetro consists of two parallel tracks, allowing for bi-directional operation. Passengers typically experience short wait times for the train, which departs frequently throughout the day and night. The system is fully automated, meaning there are no drivers on board. Operation and monitoring are handled remotely from a central control room.

The rolling stock consists of lightweight, electric-powered vehicles designed for high-capacity passenger transport. The interiors are designed for airport passengers, featuring ample standing room and space for luggage. Visual and auditory announcements provide real-time information regarding the route and destination.

The construction of the Skymetro was undertaken to improve the overall passenger experience at Copenhagen Airport by providing a convenient and reliable connection between terminals. It contributes to the airport's efficiency and its ability to handle a large volume of passengers.
