Dan Seymour (announcer)

Dan Seymour was an American radio and television announcer and voice actor. He is perhaps best known for his work as the announcer on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson from 1962 to 1980. He provided the opening introduction for each show and frequently interacted with Carson during the program, often becoming the subject of jokes and humorous banter.

Prior to his association with The Tonight Show, Seymour worked extensively in radio, holding positions at various stations. He also contributed his voice to numerous commercials and animated programs. His deep, resonant voice became readily recognizable to a large audience.

Beyond his work with Carson, Seymour also announced for other television shows, including game shows and variety programs. He retired from The Tonight Show along with Johnny Carson in 1992. His career spanned several decades, making him a familiar voice in American broadcasting.
