Ali Hamsa
Ali Hamsa (born 1955, died April 21, 2022) was a Malaysian civil servant who served as the 13th Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia from June 2012 to August 2018.
Hamsa began his career in the civil service in 1981, joining the Ministry of Trade and Industry. He subsequently held various positions within the Malaysian government, including roles in the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister's Department. He also served as the Director-General of the Public Private Partnership Unit (UKAS) under the Prime Minister's Department.
As Chief Secretary to the Government, Ali Hamsa was the highest-ranking civil servant in Malaysia, responsible for advising the Prime Minister and overseeing the administration of the public sector. His duties included coordinating government policies, managing the civil service, and ensuring the efficient delivery of public services.
Following his retirement as Chief Secretary, he held positions in the corporate sector. He died in April 2022.
