Wild Pigeon (film)
Wild Pigeon (Russian: Дикий голубь, Dikiy golub') is a 1986 Soviet drama film directed by Sergei Solovyov.
The film tells the story of Irina, a young nurse who moves to Leningrad from a small Siberian town to attend a medical college. Leaving behind her husband, Pavel, and their young daughter, Irina struggles to adapt to city life and the demands of her studies. She finds herself drawn to Vadim, an intelligent and charismatic fellow student, and faces a difficult choice between her established life and a potential new love. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, societal expectations, and the challenges faced by young people navigating adult relationships in the Soviet Union of the 1980s.
