The Crew (2000 film)
The Crew is a 2000 American black comedy crime film directed by Michael Dinner and starring Burt Reynolds, Richard Dreyfuss, Dan Hedaya, and Seymour Cassel. It centers on four retired mobsters living in a Miami Beach hotel who are forced to deal with a younger generation of criminals and attempt to maintain their lifestyle by staging a fake murder.
The film was a critical and commercial failure, receiving generally negative reviews and performing poorly at the box office. Common criticisms focused on the weak script, predictable plot, and reliance on tired gangster movie tropes. Despite the cast of veteran actors, many critics felt they were unable to elevate the material.
