Beneixama

Beneixama is a municipality located in the comarca of Alt Vinalopó, in the province of Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. It is situated in the interior of the province, near the border with the province of Valencia.

The economy of Beneixama is primarily based on agriculture, with olives, almonds, and grapes being important crops. There is also some industrial activity, mainly related to textiles and furniture.

Historically, the area has been inhabited since Iberian times, and later under Roman and Moorish rule. Beneixama was reconquered by the Christians in the 13th century.

The town celebrates its annual fiestas in honor of its patron saint, the Mare de Déu dels Dolors (Our Lady of Sorrows).
