Dan Murphy (musician)
Dan Murphy is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist for the Minneapolis-based alternative rock band Soul Asylum. He joined Soul Asylum (then known as Loud Fast Rules) in 1981 and remained a core member throughout the band's most commercially successful period, contributing significantly to their songwriting and distinctive sound.
Beyond his work with Soul Asylum, Murphy has also been involved in various other musical projects. These include collaborations with other artists and appearances on various recordings. His guitar style is characterized by melodic lines, dynamic rhythms, and a blend of rock and alternative influences.
