Dave Cooke (businessman)

Dave Cooke is a British businessman known for his involvement in the automotive industry, particularly his role in the expansion and eventual sale of the automotive retailer, DC Cook.

Cooke founded DC Cook in the 1960s. The company grew from a single dealership to a major player in the UK automotive retail market, representing various brands. Key to the company's success was aggressive expansion and a focus on volume sales.

In the late 1990s, DC Cook became a public company, floating on the London Stock Exchange. However, the company faced financial challenges in the early 2000s, exacerbated by market pressures and internal restructuring.

Ultimately, DC Cook was acquired by a larger automotive group, Pendragon PLC, in 2003. Following the acquisition, Dave Cooke largely retired from active involvement in the automotive retail sector.
