Nazikeda Kadın (wife of Mehmed VI)

Nazikeda Kadın (born c. 1866, died 1941) was the principal consort (baş kadın) of Mehmed VI Vahdeddin, the last Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Very little is definitively known about her early life. It is believed she was of Abkhazian or Circassian origin. She married Mehmed Vahdeddin before he ascended the throne. As principal consort, she occupied an important position within the imperial harem and was the mother of his eldest daughter, Ulviye Sultan.

After Mehmed VI's deposition and exile in 1922, Nazikeda Kadın accompanied him. She spent her final years in exile with him in San Remo, Italy, and died in 1941. Her burial location is unknown.
