Cityplace (Winnipeg)

Cityplace is a shopping mall located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is connected to the Millennium Library, Canada Life Centre (formerly Bell MTS Place), and several office buildings via indoor walkways.

Originally known as Eaton Place, it was constructed in the late 1970s as part of a larger downtown revitalization project that included the construction of the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The mall's anchor tenant was Eaton's department store, and its presence significantly influenced the retail landscape of downtown Winnipeg for many years.

Following the bankruptcy and closure of Eaton's in 2002, the mall underwent significant renovations and rebranding, becoming Cityplace. The renovations included the addition of new retail spaces and a food court.

Cityplace primarily serves the downtown Winnipeg community, including office workers, residents, and visitors to the Millennium Library and nearby attractions. It offers a variety of retail outlets, food vendors, and services.

The mall is located at 333 St. Mary Avenue and is accessible via multiple entrances and connections to the surrounding buildings and the city's skywalk system. Public transportation is readily available near Cityplace.
