Marvin Johnson (basketball)
Marvin Johnson (born February 2, 1956) is a retired American professional basketball player. A 6'7" (2.01 m) forward, he played collegiately at the University of New Mexico.
Johnson was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 3rd round (62nd overall) of the 1978 NBA Draft. He played for the Denver Nuggets (1978-1979), Chicago Bulls (1979-1980), Milwaukee Bucks (1980-1981), Houston Rockets (1981-1982), and Golden State Warriors (1982-1983).
Over his NBA career, Johnson appeared in 242 games, scoring a total of 1,049 points (4.3 points per game) and grabbing 795 rebounds (3.3 rebounds per game). He was primarily known for his role as a reserve player and his contributions on defense and rebounding. While not a high-scoring player, Johnson provided valuable depth and versatility to the teams he played for.
