James Graham (playwright)

James Graham (born 11 July 1982) is a British playwright and screenwriter. He is known for his political dramas and works that often explore contemporary issues and historical events in British society.

Graham was educated at Chilwell Comprehensive School in Nottingham, followed by a degree in Drama at the University of Hull.

His notable plays include:

  • This House (2012), set in the House of Commons during the hung parliament of the 1970s, exploring the inner workings of the British political system.
  • Ink (2017), which examines the early years of Rupert Murdoch's ownership of The Sun newspaper.
  • Quiz (2017), about the "coughing major" scandal on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
  • Labour of Love (2017), a political comedy examining the internal conflicts within the Labour Party.
