FC TVMK
FC TVMK Tallinn (often referred to simply as TVMK) was an Estonian football club based in Tallinn. Founded in 1951 as Tallinna Masinatehas (Tallinn Machinery Plant), the club underwent several name changes before settling on TVMK (Tallinna Vineeri- ja Mööblikombinaat - Tallinn Veneer and Furniture Combine) which reflected its sponsorship by a local factory.
Throughout its history, TVMK experienced periods of success and financial instability. They played in the Meistriliiga, the top tier of Estonian football, for several years, achieving their greatest success in 2005 when they won both the Meistriliiga title and the Estonian Cup.
The club also participated in European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds and the UEFA Cup (now UEFA Europa League).
Financial difficulties ultimately led to the club's demise. In late 2008, after struggling with debt, FC TVMK announced its withdrawal from the Meistriliiga and subsequently folded. Despite their relatively short period of prominence, FC TVMK remains a notable team in the history of Estonian football, particularly for its unexpected championship victory in 2005.
