Paul Lake
Paul Lake (born 16 October 1968) is an English former professional footballer who played primarily as a midfielder for Manchester City.
Lake joined Manchester City as a schoolboy and progressed through the youth ranks, making his first-team debut in 1986. He quickly established himself as a key player, known for his tackling, energy, and leadership on the field. He captained the team for a period and was considered one of the most promising young players in English football.
His career was tragically cut short by a serious knee injury sustained in 1990. Despite several attempts to return to the game, he was forced to retire in 1996 at the age of 27.
Since retiring, Lake has worked in various roles, including as a youth coach and a football pundit. He is also a published author.
