Gwaldam
Gwaldam is a hill station and cantonment town located in the Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Situated between the Kumaon and Garhwal regions, Gwaldam offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Nandaghunti. It is known for its apple orchards, terraced fields, and coniferous forests.
The town serves as a base for several trekking routes in the region, including trails to Roopkund, Bedni Bugyal, and Valley of Flowers. The pleasant climate and scenic beauty attract tourists seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Gwaldam is also home to a small army cantonment, which contributes to the town's clean and well-maintained environment. Basic amenities such as accommodation, restaurants, and transportation are available, though the town remains relatively undeveloped compared to other popular hill stations in Uttarakhand.
