Super Turrican (1993 video game)

Super Turrican is a 1993 run and gun platformer video game developed by Factor 5 and published by Manfred Trenz for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It is the second game in the Turrican series to be released on the SNES, following Turrican II: The Final Fight (ported from the Amiga).

The game stars a lone warrior, Turrican, equipped with a versatile energy weapon and a powerful "Morph Ball" mode. Turrican must battle through vast, interconnected levels filled with hostile creatures and environmental hazards in order to defeat the machine-like Morgul and his army.

Gameplay focuses on exploration, fast-paced shooting, and strategic use of Turrican's abilities. The primary weapon can be upgraded to three distinct firing modes: a multi-directional spread shot, a concentrated laser beam, and a powerful rebound shot that bounces off surfaces. The "Morph Ball" mode allows Turrican to roll into tight spaces, plant mines, and unleash a screen-clearing Nova attack.

Super Turrican is noted for its large, detailed levels, challenging gameplay, and atmospheric soundtrack composed by Chris Hülsbeck. It is considered a classic of the run and gun genre on the SNES.
