Mike Garcia (politician)

Mike Garcia (born April 24, 1976) is an American politician and former Navy fighter pilot serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 27th congressional district since 2020. A member of the Republican Party, Garcia won a special election in May 2020 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Katie Hill. He subsequently won a full term in November 2020 and has been re-elected since.

Prior to entering politics, Garcia served in the United States Navy for nearly 20 years as a fighter pilot, flying F/A-18E Super Hornets. He flew combat missions during the Iraq War. After his military service, he worked as an executive at Raytheon.

Garcia's political positions are generally considered conservative. He has focused on issues such as national security, fiscal responsibility, and supporting small businesses. He has been a vocal advocate for the aerospace industry, which has a significant presence in his district. He has also expressed support for stricter border security and lower taxes.
