14th Military Division (Vichy France)

The 14th Military Division was one of the military administrative divisions of Vichy France during World War II. It was headquartered in Lyon and encompassed the departments of Ain, Loire, Rhône, and Saône-et-Loire. This division was responsible for maintaining order, enforcing Vichy legislation, and coordinating with German occupation forces within its territory. Its responsibilities included policing, suppressing resistance activities, and managing the allocation of resources under wartime conditions. The 14th Military Division was directly subordinate to the Ministry of War in Vichy and its commanding officer was responsible for the implementation of government policy within the designated geographical area.
