N21 (South Africa)
The N21 is a national route in South Africa. It is primarily a north-south freeway in Cape Town, forming a significant part of the city's arterial road network. Also known as the "N21 Freeway", the "R300 Freeway" or the "Cape Flats Freeway", it connects the N1 at Brackenfell in the north to the N2 near Mitchells Plain and the Cape Town International Airport in the south.
The N21 serves as an important link between the northern and southern suburbs of Cape Town, bypassing the city center and alleviating traffic congestion. It provides access to various industrial and residential areas, including Brackenfell, Kuils River, Bellville, Delft, Blue Downs, Mitchells Plain, and Khayelitsha.
The freeway is generally well-maintained and features multiple lanes in each direction, with frequent on- and off-ramps providing access to the surrounding areas. Traffic volumes on the N21 can be heavy, especially during peak hours.
