Richard Tomlins (judge)

Richard Tomlins (born 1756, died 1841) was an English barrister and judge. He is primarily known for his role as a Master in Chancery, a position he held for many years. The Chancery Court, later absorbed into the High Court of Justice, dealt with equitable matters. Tomlins was appointed a Master in Chancery in 1804 and served in that capacity until his retirement. His duties included taking evidence, investigating facts, and making reports to the Chancellor to assist in the adjudication of cases. He was a member of Lincoln's Inn.
