Kal Yafai

Kal Yafai (born June 11, 1989) is a British professional boxer. He is a former super-flyweight world champion, having held the WBA title from 2016 to 2020.

Yafai represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, reaching the round of 16. As a professional, he turned professional in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks. He captured the WBA super-flyweight title in December 2016 by defeating Luis Concepcion. Yafai defended the title five times before losing it to Roman Gonzalez in February 2020.

Known for his slick boxing style, speed, and combination punching, Yafai is considered one of the most accomplished British boxers in the super-flyweight division. He is of Yemeni descent.
