Hélène David
Hélène David (born 1954) is a Canadian politician and academic in Quebec. She served as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Marguerite-Bourgeoys from 2014 to 2022, representing the Quebec Liberal Party.
Prior to entering politics, David was a prominent figure in Quebec's academic and social spheres. She held positions at the Université de Montréal, specializing in psychology and women's studies. She served as Vice-Rector of International Relations at the Université de Montréal and held other administrative roles within the university system.
David has been a vocal advocate for women's rights and gender equality throughout her career. She has been involved with numerous organizations dedicated to these issues and has contributed significantly to public discourse on related topics.
During her time in the National Assembly, she held various ministerial portfolios, including Minister Responsible for Higher Education, Minister Responsible for Status of Women, and Minister of Culture and Communications.
