Juan Pablo (footballer, born 1978)

Juan Pablo Sorín (born February 14, 1976), is a retired Argentine footballer who played primarily as a left-back or left midfielder. He is often referred to simply as Juan Pablo.

Sorín enjoyed a successful club career, playing for notable teams such as Argentinos Juniors, Juventus, River Plate, Cruzeiro, Lazio, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Villarreal, and Hamburger SV. He was known for his energetic performances, leadership qualities, and versatility on the left side of the field. He was a tenacious tackler, skilled passer, and capable of contributing both defensively and offensively.

At the international level, Sorín was a key member of the Argentina national team for over a decade. He represented his country in two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2006) and was the captain of the Argentine squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He also participated in several Copa América tournaments and other international competitions.

After retiring from professional football, Sorín has remained involved in the sport as a commentator and analyst. He is also known for his social activism and commitment to various charitable causes.
