Zero (Brazilian band)

Zero was a Brazilian new wave band formed in São Paulo in 1983. The band was fronted by Guilherme Isnard (vocals) and also featured Fabio Golfetti (guitar), Alfred "Freddy" Haiat (keyboards), Ricardo "Rick" Villas-Boas (bass) and Cláudio Mendes (drums).

Zero gained popularity in the mid-1980s with their energetic performances and catchy songs, becoming a prominent act in the Brazilian new wave scene, which was experiencing a surge in popularity at the time. Their music blended elements of post-punk, new romantic, and synth-pop.

The band released their debut album, "Passos no Escuro," in 1985, which included popular tracks such as "Agora Eu Sei" (a cover of "I Know" by The Smiths), "Heróis," and "Formosa." The album was well-received, solidifying their place in the Brazilian music landscape.

Zero went through several lineup changes throughout its history. Despite these changes, the band continued to perform and record music. They released a second album, "Carrossel," in 1987.

The band eventually disbanded but reunited in the 2000s for occasional performances and projects, revisiting their influential contribution to Brazilian rock. They continue to be remembered as an important band of the Brazilian 1980s new wave movement.
