- Rudi Assauer (1944-2019): A German football manager and player. He was most famous for his long and successful tenures as the manager of FC Schalke 04, a major German football club. During his time at Schalke, he oversaw significant successes, including winning the UEFA Cup in 1997 and the German Cup in 2001 and 2002. He was also known for his outspoken and charismatic personality. After his career in football, he publicly revealed his struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
