Reg Bennett (tennis)

Reginald "Reg" Bennett (1922-2004) was a British tennis player active in the amateur era of the sport, primarily during the 1940s and 1950s. He reached the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Championships in 1951, losing to eventual champion Dick Savitt. Bennett was known for his consistent baseline game and tenacious play. He represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup on several occasions. While he never secured a major championship title, his Wimbledon quarter-final appearance and Davis Cup participation cemented his place as a notable figure in British tennis during his era. After his playing career, Bennett remained involved in tennis administration and coaching.
