McQueen (band)
McQueen was a British indie rock band, formed in 2005 in London. The band consisted of brothers Andy McQueen (vocals, guitar) and Pete McQueen (guitar, vocals), along with bassist Gareth Lumbers and drummer Chris Gillingham.
McQueen's sound was characterized by melodic guitar work, strong harmonies, and introspective lyrics. They drew comparisons to bands such as The Smiths, The Libertines, and early Coldplay.
The band signed to Fierce Panda Records and released several singles, including "Lexicons" and "Golden Skans" (a cover of the Klaxons song). They also released an EP titled "Hollywood Picture Disk".
McQueen gained a following through live performances and appearances at festivals such as Reading and Leeds. They toured extensively throughout the UK.
Despite critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase, McQueen disbanded in 2009. Members have since pursued other musical projects. Andy McQueen went on to form the band We The Wild. Pete McQueen has been involved in songwriting and production.
The band's discography includes several singles and one EP released via Fierce Panda Records. Their music remains available on various streaming platforms.
