Ernie Clark (American football)

Ernie Clark (born December 10, 1937, in Colmesneil, Texas, died July 18, 2010, in Beaumont, Texas) was an American football player who played offensive tackle in the American Football League (AFL). He played college football at Tulane University.

Clark was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) in the 16th round (181st overall) of the 1960 NFL Draft. However, he opted to play in the newly formed AFL.

Clark played for the Houston Oilers from 1960 to 1962, helping them win the AFL Championship in 1960 and 1961. He was known for his size and strength as an offensive lineman. Following his time with the Oilers, he played for the Oakland Raiders in 1963. His professional football career ended after the 1963 season.
