Claus Daa (1579–1641)
Claus Daa (born 1579, died 1641) was a Danish nobleman and admiral. He belonged to the Daa family, a prominent aristocratic lineage in Denmark. His career was largely defined by his service in the Royal Danish Navy.
Daa is best known for his role in naval conflicts and administration during the reign of Christian IV. He held various high-ranking positions within the navy, eventually achieving the rank of admiral. He participated in several naval engagements, demonstrating his skill and leadership in maritime warfare.
Beyond his military contributions, Claus Daa also held administrative responsibilities, overseeing naval shipbuilding, recruitment, and logistics. He was a key figure in maintaining and strengthening the Danish fleet during a period of significant European conflict.
