La Iguala

La Iguala is a city located in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is officially known as Iguala de la Independencia, and its full name reflects its historical significance in the Mexican War of Independence.

History: Iguala is most notable for being the location where the Plan de Iguala was proclaimed in 1821. This plan, drafted by Agustín de Iturbide and Vicente Guerrero, united insurgent and royalist forces and outlined the principles for an independent Mexico: union, religion, and independence. The Plan de Iguala paved the way for Mexico's independence from Spain.

Geography: Iguala is situated in a valley and enjoys a relatively warm climate. Its surrounding area is primarily agricultural.
