Chayat

Chayat, sometimes transliterated as Chayot, is a Hebrew word (חַיּוֹת) that is the plural form of "Chayah" (חַיָּה). "Chayah" literally translates to "living being," "creature," or "animal." Therefore, "Chayat" signifies "living beings," "creatures," or "animals."

In Kabbalah, "Chayah" is one of the five levels of the soul, representing the vital life force and spiritual awareness. "Chayat," in this context, would refer to the plural of that spiritual level, though it is less frequently used in this manner. More often, within a Kabbalistic framework, it refers to the divine "living creatures" described in the Book of Ezekiel and the Book of Revelation, often associated with the Merkabah (chariot) vision. These creatures are often depicted with different faces (lion, ox, eagle, human) and are symbolic of divine attributes and powers.
